May be I sound little arrogant but I ask why should I vote in a country where in most cases voting day considered a just a holiday or a day to make few bucks.
Let be the country in the hands of educated people for 2 terms, I mean to ask just 10 years. Lets give people like me step forward and participate the in the system by allowing only certain people to participate in election to vote. Let those make decision on behalf of the citizens in electing and sending right candidates to protect the constitution and get the development to the country.
I know any idealist argue with my point of view, but remember we copied democracy from the western world where it worked because people back there were/are more empowered in making their choice. We copied a good system but it failed to deliver in our case because we have millions of people who can not even read or write. There is no argument in accepting that system of democracy can deliver goods only if participants are educated and empowered, and do not ask me to wait until we get everyone get educated becasue that's never going to happen in current setup.
I never forget the day when I went to get my marriage certificate and birth certificate of my daugther. It is shame on each of us for getting this country to at this level. The officers at desk not even felt shame in demanding the money to get my certification for a marriage and for the little one arrival into this world.
The system became rotten and its bringing every one down along with it. There is no surprise to say there is more Indian money in tax havens then any other country on the map.
Current and past generation netas who descended from the high end of complex Indian culture took complete advantage of the system and not letting other people to progress.
Lets give a chance by just letting (only) educated people to vote and elect one among them to the represent the citizens in their constituency with the power to recall.
If we do not think and make a drastic amend to the perception we have its not going happen if you think it will happen
I am not saying this is only solution we have for this issue, unfortunately I can not see any other !
